About Oak Ridge, TN - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Oak Ridge, Tennessee is a city found in portions of Roane and Anderson Counties. Located only 25 miles west of Knoxville, this growing community is home to nearly 30,000 people. Oak Ridge is often referred to as “The Atomic City” or “The Secret City”, and it was established in 1942 as a Manhattan Project production site. Today, federal government projects still serve as some of the city’s main economic activities, including offices with the Department of Energy and the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Education is also important to Oak Ridge residents, and many high school graduates attend courses through Roan State Community College, which houses its largest branch campus here.
There are several things to see and do in Oak Ridge. Many visitors enjoy a trip to one of the city’s museums, which include the Children’s Museum of Oak Ridge and the American Museum of Science and Energy. The Manhattan Project National Historical Park is one of the top historical sites in the area, while visitors who prefer time in nature might like to visit Haw Ridge Park or the University of Tennessee Arboretum. The Oak Ridge Art Center also attracts visitors who appreciate the arts.
In order for Oak Ridge residents to live comfortable year-round, they need to invest in appropriate climate controls. Seasonal conditions vary, beginning with a cool to cold winter. Average daytime highs might reach into the 40s, but overnight lows often fall into the 20s. When these freezing conditions move into the area, residents need to stay safe with the right electric of gas furnace.
During the summer, temperatures are dramatically different. High thermostat readings and humidity levels warrant a reliable central air conditioner at home. A new cooling system with a good AFUE rating is a wise investment, and existing units should be serviced regularly. This leads to optimal function, low utility costs, and unsurpassed reliability.
